This is really good news. They are making alot of breakthroughs theses days and will make more in the years to come. The possibilties are exciteing with a better understanding of DNA ,since they suceedeed in breaking down the entire human Genome. It's like havings the parts to 747 and not knowing how they work together. Stem cell research is interesting too, although I don't know much about it. They say that there is a Chromozone like two spagetti strands and it has a tie at the end called a Telomere. They say that the length of the telomere determines your age. As you get older the telomere shortens. If they could find a switch to turn the telomere off, aging would be stopped. It seems within our grasp to accomplish these things, with our own hands. Enviormentally as well, I beleive we have the intelligence to heal the planet. Waiting on God to do it, doesn't help, in the here and now.

by metatron inhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070326/ts_alt_afp/ushealthheartstemcell;_ylt=ajn6_kewtilitwvhyvhk82iplbif.
two trials show progress in rejuvenating human hearts with stem cells.. .
if tehy can master stem cells, the possibilities are enormous, maybe even a sort of functional .

What Do YOU Think Is The BIGGEST Revelation That Has Gotten JWs Exposed???
by minimus infor me, it was the un debacle.
their association and weak retreat was priceless.
after that, silentlambs ranks right up there.. of course, if it were not for ray franz, many of us would've never even thought about leaving!.

This Board, thanks to Simon! Every day people read it and heal and organize themselves. Even non witnesses look at it. It will never stop and it is a powerful information tool to debunk crap and expose truth. It is a powerful punch in the face the watchtower has no response to.

Ray Franz Comments on Y.M.C.A.
by compound complex inray franz states that, according to governing body decisions on matters of faith, fault found with certain of a religion's teachings makes said faith, in its totality, unacceptable to god.
therefore one's association in that religion renders one unclean.
as a consequence, a jehovah's witness would be disfellowshiped for joining the y.m.c.a.

I lived at the YMCA for 7 years after my getting the boot as I had no contacts, and my life was in a mess. This Y was affordable where other accomodations wern't, and had counselling and physical components such as a gym to heal body mind and spirit, which is the Y motto.
It seems that once the home wrecking witnesses have destroyed your life that's not enough for them. There stance towards the Y and phychiatric counselling is blatant evidence that they do not want you to find your balance outside of their org. They need to find victims they can always point the finger at and say " See, that's what happens to people who don't love Jehovah, to reinforce there garbage.
Once your in a weakened state, its perfect for their witnessing agenda as well. It convinces me even more, that they are hellbent on destroying anyone that is not, or does not want to be like them. All they offer in counselling is lame scripture, after lame scripture until your ears bleed, with no real comfort on the table ever!

I agree totally. They are very foolish to have kicked out the talented and kind people that are on this board and elsewhere. I may come across as harsh at times in the way I post against them, but the damage they have done, to good people, is staggering. Outside of this context, I'm a very nice person myself.

I used to have the best conversations with my Mom when I was a dub-not now
by themonster123 inwhenever me and my mom would have our weekly study, it seemed like we would have the best conversations.
that's when i felt closest to her and felt like both our minds and hearts were open and loving and receptive.
now....(she's still a jw-i'm not), whenever we talk, since it's never about spiritual stuff anymore (since i don't believe it), it's always about shallow stuff-i feel so shallow.

I've noticed this too in my life. There are many things to talk about in life. Relationships, phychology, lifes trials and many peices of advice you would expect an older person especially your mom to be able to dispense.
I think one must realize that it was them that were shallow all along, and that this is the lens through which they see the world. They can't talk about life expereince and give advice on things they were never allowed to experience. They even frown upon phychology. Your world has expanded and theirs remains the same, because the source is corrupt. They choose to be this way. Very pitiful indeed!

Anonymous = Modesty
by Perry ini asked my mother one time why no one ever signed the articles that were written in the wt and awake.
she said that were just being modest and did not want to receive undo praise for themselves but wanted to direct all the attention to jehovah and that they were really proving themselves to be discreeet.. do jw's still repeat this reason?

If that is true, then why do the speakers at assemblies claim we are cowards for posting on exJW Internet sites using anonymous pseudonyms?
Hey, Elsewhere in a strange way I think that's the frist compliment I've ever gotten from these jerks. In other words, they're saying those that do post there names and pics, are courageous. How kind of them to acknowledge.
It seems the bible has many authors as the point was made above. I wonder in their case, if it might have something to do with accountability and lieing.

When is it time to tell your adult children get the Blank out?
by avidbiblereader into me there is a definite difference in my generation and the one coming after me, when i graduated you basically had three choices.
military, college or a fulltime job which meant more than 40 and you were expected to grow up, today kids are seen as postponing this for years, it reminds me of the proverbs 29:21 kjv says .
21 he that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.. when is it time to push the little birds from the nest and tell them to flap real hard?.

Staying at home until the right age can be beneficial but after a certain point it actually causes damage. I think a young one should be raised to know that at some point they will have to leave home and live a life supprting themselves. Explain that you will always be there for advice and help if it is really needed. Independance should be taught as a good thing, but there are steps to take in preparing a young one for this step in growth. The world can be very trying.
In my parents home they had great difficulty in letting go of there children but also had a great deal of trouble in seeing there kids the way they want to be seen. Outside of the witnesses structure there was nothing you could do to make them proud. My brother stayed at home and remained a virgin until the age of 30. His twin brother moved next door. I left at the age of 19 knowing nothing at all about life. There was no support or help or advice. There was no nice way to leave because of the witnesses. This led me down the wrong path. Although I left sooner, my learning curve was warped because of the witnesses. I was seeeing things through the wrong eyes and was terribly disturbed.
The most important thing to me would have been to know that my parents loved me but because I left the religion too. I always had a monkey on my back. I think the age I left was fine, but there was no preparation for it. If you want kids to leave at a certain point they must have the idea put in there heads and feel comfortable with it or you will just be sending them to the nearest welfare office. i left for my own sanity and I'm still glad I did but the witnesses turned it into a no win scenario. I left as shamed person and was villified with no knowledge or confidence for the world. My frame of my mind was that the end was coming and nothing mattered. Shame on you witness!
I stayed away as long as I possibly could to avoid their incessant indoctrination and now I am receiving help after 20 years of wasted life. The Jehovah's witnesses DO NOT PREPARE ANYONE FOR LIVING IN THE WORLD. That is there goal. If you were prepared for living in the real world you sure wouldn't be a witless. If they had given me support mentally whenthey should have, they wouldn't have to help me now. I WOULD BE HELPING THEM. Which is the way things are supposed to be when you're agingand have kids.

I broke down in tears when I frist came to this board. 20 years to late! Your very fortunate to have made this step at your age. You can heal here a lot faster and find comfort. You have time on your side and the best minds in the business at your fingertips. You can speak your mind and vent your frustrations. Your trials are understood here, better than any place I've ever found.

I understand that scenario completly. You sure arn't alone there. My dad always wanted us to go to university as he had done before he was a witness but in the 80's they discouraged it very much. It was a neverending conflicting message. They try to direct your life and get you to buy into there dream and there game instead af yours.
The witnesses had sanctioned my life into non existence and I just couldn't take it anymore and flipped out. I was so disturbed when they gave me the boot The next 20 years were wasted and I am now 40. It takes a long time to heal from that useless crap. The end didn't come and my father offered me university and college but I was too disturbed and carried too much baggage to handle it.
I'm beside myself with rage, depression and regrets. Thats what the watchtower does to many people. I've had a rough hall. Cheer up though! This board is a great source of comfort and knowlegde much healing and understanding comes from this board. There is a pletora of talents here. I wish you well and welcome to the board!
